My son started 2nd Grade today!  Back to school after a long summer.  It was really hard to get up this morning.  We slept through snooze, twice.

He woke up from a nightmare at 4am and crawled into bed with us.  Probably anxious, in a good and bad way.  Anxious to meet his new teacher and classmates, anxious to start the next phase of his life, anxious to wear his new angry birds shirt…but when he (finally) woke up, he was in a great mood.

He says he doesn’t really like school, but I know it’s because he would rather be home playing with his dog and his neighborhood friends in the yard.  I reminded him that he can still do that when he gets home from school  : )
