A Lesson From Robin Williams

“No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.” Robin Williams

My name is Zach Anselmi and I have chosen to introduce myself on the Raising Boys World (RBW) blog with a quote that represents my purpose both directly in the words that are written and also indirectly in who said them.

Directly:
In posting on RBW I have chosen a medium in which my words and ideas can be expressed, targeting an audience that I hold dear to my heart as I myself am a young man finding myself in this world.

Indirectly:
I have chosen a quote from Robin Williams because mental illness in young and adult men is something that I am truly passionate about.  It’s something that affected him until the end of his life, and something that has affected me as well. Raising Boys World is a great resource for providing boys, men, and parents with the tools they need to become and help their children become happy, healthy, and successful men in this world.

In closing here is an intense scene from Good Will Hunting in which Robin Williams, who plays a psychiatrist helps Will, a distraught young man, accept his feelings– an earth shattering step for him.

I look forward to my future post sharing my unique perspective with Raising Boys World.
