Life's Little Pleasures

Sometimes it's the little things in life that I appreciate. Such as talking on the phone without screaming in the background, going to the bathroom with the door closed or taking an uninterrupted shower. With kids, learning to make a few personal sacrifices is to be expected. It's no longer the "me" world, but rather the "we" world. It's not to say you can't maintain your individuality and independace. You definitly can, but just not in the same way you knew it before. Setting boundaries helps too, but for the most part, being a parent requires some compromises to your perfect little world. Parenting means being ready for the unexpected. Thinking of someone besides yourself, yet developing yourself into the best you so you can be a better example to your child. Parenting means having limited time alone. When you have children, you learn your capacity to truly love another human being unconditionally.

Birth Order

By Renee Martinez

February 8, 2012

I find it interesting how birth order seems to play a significant role in who a child will become. I have 4 boys, and I want to make sure that their birth order will not hinder their full potential.  Birth order can can be a factor in career choices, behavior, personality type, or even how well they will do in school. Is birth order a good predictor of a child’s future?
